Court Date Revelation 20
George Bowers, October 2010
The Bible tells us clearly
There’s a summons to appear,
Before the Great White Throne of God
And the time may be quite near.
Everyone who isn’t saved
Will be there on that day,
Small and great and rich and poor
Who’ve said, “No!” to the Way.
They will be beckoned forth
From all their many graves,
From all of History’s ages,
And from mountains and sea waves.
One’s works will be the evidence
Presented in the trial,
But all of ours are filthy rags
So wicked and so vile.
He’ll check into the Book of Life
Belonging to the Lamb
And if our name’s not written there
Our sentence will be damned.
For while we lived we had the chance
To call on Jesus’ Name,
But now that day is over
And judgment is no game.
For everyone who failed to kneel
And come through Jesus’ cross,
On Court Day they will face their sins
And suffer there great loss.
Your money and your riches
Will not buy off this judge
That day they’ll all be worthless,
And His ruling will not budge.
There is no legal lawyer
That then will be for hire,
Eternal condemnation
In the awful Lake of Fire.
The first death that they died,
Will seem a piece of cake,
Because throughout this Second Death,
They’ll be always awake.
To suffer and to groan
In misery and despair,
Eternal separation from
All that’s nice and fair.
Oh friend do not delay,
Avoid this awful fate,
Accept the blood of Jesus now
And skip this great Court Date
