The Buck’s Demise
What makes all bucks act so insane,
Inflicting and enduring pain?
What makes them skip their hunger urge,
And cause their blood and musk to surge?
What throws their caution to the wind,
And turns their anger toward their kin?
What makes them spar and fiercely fight,
And stay awake both day and night?
What makes them jump and run and kick,
And keep on going though very sick?
What makes them brave both car and truck,
And risk it all and press their luck?
Ignoring eyes and nose and ears,
Abandoning real and rational fears?
What gets them killed more oft than not,
By fight or bow or rifle shot?
It’s naught but one almighty hormone,
The buck’s demise is testosterone!
